Bethel Family Ministries: El Paso Church, Your New Home.

Meet Cindy Hodge

Jesus, coffee, chocolate, and music!! What do these 4 things have in common? Me! Cindy K. Hodge. These are a few of my favorites things, and I just thought some interesting things about me were in order so you will know a little something about the person writing this blog.

I grew up in a very loving Christian home and came to know Jesus very young. I married a wonderful man, Ben Hodge III who is the pastor of Bethel Family Ministries. We are the parents of two daughters: Jill our oldest died of cancer 3 years ago at the age of 27 leaving behind a husband and a beautiful son, and Beth, our youngest, is married to our youth pastor, Isaac Portillo, and they have 3 beautiful children. Being a grandparent is the best thing ever!!

CindyH-1.jpgI am a music teacher with the Ysleta ISD, and have taught English and music for most of my teaching career. I love singing, playing the piano and worshiping my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Although I have attended a Christian church all of my life and have attended Bethel family Ministries in El Paso, Texas for 41 years, I am always amazed at the new things my Jesus shows me everyday. Sometimes these revelations come from His Word, sometimes from a sermon, and sometimes from the little, every day things in life. One of the very simple, but powerful things I have learned is to enjoy each day that has been given to us by God. I learned this from a 4 year old, Jacob, my oldest grandson. We had a sleepover with all of the grandkids one Friday evening, which is always a blast!! The next morning, I was downstairs drinking my coffee and I heard little feet at the top of the stairs. When I went to look, Jacob was standing at the top of the stairs, and said, "Good morning, Marmie. It's a very sunny day." I looked and saw the sun shinning beautifully through the window and I thought what a great day our God has given us. I determined in my heart to enjoy every day - the good days when all is well, and even on the difficult days, find something to enjoy. Because tomorrow is not promised, we need to enjoy each day our God has given to us. As I learn from these daily lessons, I invite you to come along with me. Life can be difficult but life can also be beautiful and rewarding. One of our core values at Bethel is living life together as a family. Let's walk this road of life together sharing all that Jesus is teaching us as well as some coffee and chocolate. Live life to it's fullest, love unconditionally, and laugh often.
